This event, like others in the Foundation's ongoing series, offers our community the opportunity to participate in discussions about the future of public education in the 21st century. Please plan to attend this community event! Dr. Jim Snapp, a nationally recognized expert on middle level education, will share his experiences and insights on educating young adolescents. Dr. Snapp currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in the Franklin Township Community School Corporation and is a former Chair of the National Middle School Association's Curriculum Committee. Topics he will address include: * What defines a good middle school? * How should a classroom be configured to support the adolescent mind? * What do students need in order to learn during these critical years? * What are the differences between Middle School and Junior High? After his presentation, Dr. Snapp will answer questions from the audience. Representatives from the three MCCSC middle schools, New Tech, Early College, and the 21st Century Scholars program will also be present to talk with participants about various programs in the school corporation.
